MINER,
THIS beautiful and thorough bred
horse, the property of Geo. B. Robert
son, will stand the preseut season at the
stable of Muslian &. .Mott, Macon, and
is now ready to serve marcs at Fifteen
Dollar- the leap; Thirty Dollars the season, payable
the first of July, at which time the season will expire;
One Dollar cash, to tbe groom for each mare ; Filly
Dollars to insure a mare to be iu foal, payable as soon
as she is known to be so, or is parted with. Every
necessary attention will be paid to prevent accidents
or escapes, but no liability for either.
JOHN L. MUSTIAN.
Description—MINER Is a‘beautiful dark brown,
with remarkably black legs mane and tail. 15 bands 2
inches liigb, 5 years old this spring, of fine muscle and
well formed 111 all particulars. Miner is half brother to
the celebrated race horse Argj le, who is the favorite of
tbe South. See Turf Kcgfsti-r for tho podigrce or
Monsieur Tonsonand Collier.
I do certily that (lie bay horse which I have sold to
Mr. George B. Robertson, will be five years old this
spring, and that he was got by Mr. Wm. R. Johnson’s
horse Tonson, his dam Brenda, the dsui of the cele
brated race horse Collier, formerly owned by Wtu. Fin
ney and myself. The above (Mlfibr.) I trained the
spring lie was three years old; his first stakes at Fair-
field—first heat ]in.53s. for which he did uot contend;
second heat, he was boatenby Mr. Haro’s black colt
(now Black Heath) by about half a length, in the un
precedented time of Jiu. fils, (see Turf Register.)—
Having an extraordinary opinion of Miner’s speed and
durability, and this being tbe best 2d heat I had then,
or have ever yet witnessed, over any Cbnrse South of
the Long Island Courao, N. York, I purchased -Mr.
Hare’s Black Heath. The next fall I trained them to
gether. and was tinder the firm conviction, from pri
vate trials, that Miner was the best of the two, and as
an evidence of tha fact, I refused$l?50 for half of Mi
ner, and sold to Mr Richard Adams tbe whole oi Black
Heath for 2500, the next day. The spring he was
four I trained him again. In contending for the J, C.
Purse over the Broad Rock Course, he letdown in tho
second heat; though let down hq was well up—Ire-
nette winning, Tobaconlst’ distanced. I have
doubt nature intended him for a first rate four mile
horse, but from some injury which I never could ac
count for, he was unfortunate. This last race see
Tutf Register. JOHN HETH.
Coal Pitts, Chesterfield eo. Va, Jan. 24, ‘1535.
I sold the dam of Miner to Geo. W. Johnson.son of
Mr. W. R. Johnson, when 15 years old, for the sum
of$11500 cash. JOHN HETH.
I have also sold the half of two fillies, one when' a
year old, the other when two, for §2000 cash, both out
of the dam of Mirier. ‘ * JOHN HETH.
