We find the public roads of the county to be in bad condition, particularly those leading from George town to Cuthbert. and from Georgetown to Eufaula, and we urgently rec unmend the Commissioners to have them properly worked immediately. We find the pnblie records to becorrectly and neat ly kept: but regret to report a deficit in the treasury of one hundred and thirty-tbreo and eigbty-four one- hundredth dollars. We presume, however, the in coming tax will be adequate to liquidate all claims against the county. We recommend that the pillars under the court-house and the fence enclosing it, be repaired immediately; aid also, that the roof of tho Jail be repaired. We heartily approve the bill now before the Legis lature for the appointment of three commissioners for each county desiring it, whose daty it shall be to su pervise the county roads, finances, etc., and we re commend that this connty he included. On taking leave of his Honor. Judge Harrell, we assure him of our hearty approval of his conservative administration of the law, and tender him onr thanks for the same To the Solicitor, we retarn our thanks for his cour teous and prompt attention to our body. Just so the human system, subjected to injurious influences during the winter, sometimes giveno token of the effect they have 'produced upon it, until the tcois t atmosphere of spring dovelops their fruits. Many spring diseases ore the result of winter imprudences, and great and especial care thonld be taken of the system in the crli season, so that it may be in a sound and vigorous condition wher. tho malarious fogs of March and April make their appearance. To this end, strengthen the stomach and the general or-.' ganization at this season with IIOSTEITER’S BIT TERS. Take this pleasant vegetable antitode in ad-> vance of the uprising of the mephitic mists and va-; pors, which produce chills and fever, and other mias matic diseases. Remember that it is a preventive medicine—as powerful to protect as to restore. The stomach is apt to be overtaxed at this time of the year. It is a period devoted to dinner and supper parties, and luxurious living generally. Feasting and late hours weaken the digestive organs and dis order the liver. Tho effect of the Bitters is to invig orate the one and regulate the other. There is no month in the twelve when a tonie and alterative is more generally needed than in this, and there is no preparation of tbat nature so thoroughly salubrious, so bracing, and so entirely free from undue existing properties, as this celebrated vegetable cordial. Ayer’s Cathartic Fills, Tor all the purpose* off a laxative Meet- idae. Perhaps no one medi cine is so universally re quired by everybody as a cathartic, nor was ever any before so universal ly adopted into use, in every country and among all classes, as this lnDa but efficient purgative Pill. The obvious rea son is, that it is amore re liable and far more effec tual remedy than any other. Those who have tried ityknow that it cured them; those who have not, know that it cures their neighbors and friends, and all know that wbat it does once it does always —that it never fails through any fault or neglect of its composition. We have, and can show, thou sands upon thousands of certificates of remarka ble cures of the following complaints, hut such cures are known in every neighborhood, and why should we publish them ? Adapted to all ages nnd conditions in all climates: containing neither calo mel or any deleterious drug, they may bo taken with safety by anybody. Their sugar coating pre serves them ever fresh and makes them pleasant to take, while being purely vegetable no harm can arise from their use in any quantity. They operate by their powcrftil influence on the internal viscera to purity the blood and stimulate it into healthy action—remove the obstructions of the stomach, lxrwels, liver, and other organs of the body, restoring their irregular action to health, and by correcting, wherever they’exist, such derange ments as are the first origin of disease. Minute directions are given in the wrapper on the box, for the following complaints, which these Pilla rapidly cure:— For Dyspepsia or Indigestion, I.hiless- aess. Languor and I.o«* of Appetite, they’ aould lie taken moderately to stimulate the stoiu- - ..eh and restore its healthy tone and action. For Liver Complaint and its various symp- - toms, IMiiou* Hcultuclle. Kick Heailacbc, . Jacadice or Urren Kickncsx. fliiioua - Colic and IIiiic.ii* Fever*, they should he ju diciously taken for each case, to correct the diseased action oi- remove the obstruction* which cause it. For ftyscatcry or Biurriitea, but 011c mild ' dose is guncraUv required. For lSIieuuiutiHm, bout. Grntrl, Palpi tation off the Ueart. Fain in the Riine, Buck and X.0111-, they should l;c continuously taken, as required, to change tbe diseased action of the system. With such chauge diose complaint* ■ disapiiear. For Dropsy nnd Dropsical Swelling* they should ho taken ill large, and frequent doses to pro- - dure the effect of a drastic purge. For tiapprewiion »large dose should be taken as it produces the desired effect by sympathy. As a Dinner Pill, take one or two Pills to pro- .0 digestion and relieve the stomach. An occasional dose stimulates the etomacn bowels into healthy action, restores the appetite, and invigorates the system. Hence it is often ad vantageous where no serious derangement exist*. One who feels tolerably well, often finds that a dose cf these Pills makes him feci decidedly better, from their cleansing and renovating effect on the diges tive apparatus. There are numerous cases where a pnrjmtive is required, which wo eannot cnuiaer- oiul where ue virtues of this Pill are known, the public no longer doubt what to employ. Ayer’s Cherry Pectoral, For Disease* of the Throat and Lungs, suck as Coughs, Colds, Whoopisg Cough, Bronchitis, Asthma, and Consumption. Probable never before iu tho whole historv of medicine, has anything won so widely- and so deeply upon the confidence of mankind, as this excellent remedy for pulmonary complaints. Through a long - series of years, and among most of the races or men it has risen higher anil higher in their estima tion, as it has become better known. Its uniform - character and power to cure the various affections of tho lungs anil throat, have made it known as a re liable protector against them. While adapted to milder forms of disease and to young children, it is at the same time the most effectual rented v that caa be given for incipient consumption, and' the dan gerous affections of the throat and lungs. As a pro vision against sudden attacks of Croup, it slioukl .bo kept on hand in every family, and indeed as all are sometimes subject to colds and coughs, all should bo provided with this antidote for them. Although settled Consumption 13 thought in curable, still great numbers of cases where the dis ease seemed settled, liavo been completely cured, and tho patient restored to sonnd health by five Clterri/ Pectoral. So complete is its mastcrv over tho disorders of the Lungs and Throat, that the most obstinate of them yield to it. When noth ing else could reach them, under tha Cherry Pec toral they subside and disappear. Stayers aiul Public Speakers find great pro tection from it. Asthma is always relieved and often wholly cared by it. Bronchitis is generally cured by taking the Cherry Pectoral in small and frequent doses.
