Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Re-
>rescntativcs oftlie state of Georgia, in General
tssembly mot, and it is hereby enacted by the
authority oftlie same, Tlmt wltere any person or
tersons have heretofore Had surveys made on
lead rlglilH.iboutity-warrants and grants thereon
have not been obtained, it shall and may he law
ful for such person or persons to apply lor ami
obtain such grant or grants, lit any time pre-
vioits to the 25th of October, 1824, on payment
of the usual fees. . ,
Sec 2 And be it further enacted by the att-
ihority aforesaid,. Tlmt where any surveys have
heretofore been made on head rights or bounty
warrants, and grants thereon have not been ob.
taiiied, such land shall hot be subject to a re-
survey until three months fiom and after the
person or persons claiming under the original
survey shall have been notified that midi re-sur
vey is intended to be made, and tlmt .in all cases,
tne person or persons claiming. undeV the origi
nal survey, Bltail be entitled to the preference
of making such re-survey, until tlie expiration
of three months from the time oFsuch notifica
tion*: and }n tlie event of there being no claim,
ant residing on or near the land to be thus re-
surveyed, such nptice shall be perfected by giv*
ihg three months notice by public udvertisertient,
at the Court.House oftlie county where such
land may lie, and in one of the public Gazettes
of this State.'
Sec 3 And be it further enacted, That it shall
be the duty of all surveyors who shall make any
$uch re-survey, to certify on hi# returivto the
.surveyor General, that due notice according to
the provisions of this act had been giv^n, and
no grant obtained on such re-survey shall be va.
lid, unless accompanied with such certificate:
Provided, nothing in' this att shall affect the
righto of orphans or persons under-the age of 21
years, and that all suclt persons shall be allowed
one year aft^r they arrive at the age of 2( yeurs
to take out their grants. t
Sec 4 And be it further enacted, Tlmt it shall
be the duty of the governor to. cause-tUif act to

ledgeville, Augusta and Savannali, once in each
month, until the expiration of the time appoint
