—all of which arc closed the previous evening, at

WESTERN MAILS.
Georgia route to Augusta and Hamburgh, dc-
I port at 4, a. m. on Monday, Wednesday, and Fri
day, via.Tucknseeking.Jacksonhoro’and Waynes-
| boro’ to Augusta anil Hamburgh.
Due on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, at 6
. m. The closing of this mail, to Augustu, takes
place every Tuesday, Thursday,and Sunday, ut 8,
p. m. except the intermediate offices 011 the route,
the closing of which tukes place nt 7, v. m. on the
same evenings. From Waynesboro’, a weekly
mail departs every Monday, at 6, a. m. for Birds-
villc, Louisville, Shouls ofOgecchee and Shevir’s
Mill to Powelton. Returning due every Sunday
evening, at Waynesboro’ and at Savannah every
I Tuesday, at 6, p. m.
Carolina route to Augusta and Hamburgh, close
I on Tuesduy, Thursday mid Saturday, at 6, a. m. and
depurt with the northern mail at 6, u. to Furvs-
I burgh.
Due on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, at 6,
I r. m. By this route, a mail is made up each eve
ning before its departure for Robertsville, Mat
thews Bluff, Lower Three Runs and Four, Mile
Branch. The mail between Charleston and Ham
burgh, goes direct through Puryshurgh on those
days, both up and down. Separate portmanteaus
ore provided for this purpose, at the offices of
Charleston and Augusta, which meet each other
at Puryshurgh and arc there shifted, the down to
Charleston, the up to Augusta; this supercedes the
necessity of bringing that mail; to Savannah at ul),
and thus expedites it twenty-four hours.
The mails for Milledgevillc, in Georgia, via
Lombardy, Warrcnton, Powelton, Sparta pitd De-
vercaux’s store;'also, to Alabama, (except the
northern part) and Mississippi states, and to Che-
raw, in Soutli Carolina, via Mount Viutage, Edge-
fiield, C. II. Ridge, Lecsville, Lexington; C. II.
Columbia and Camden, to Cheraw, will close di
rect on the Georgia side,'on Sunday and Tuesday,
nt 7, r. si. and bn the Carolina side on Friday, at
1 7 P. M.
The Athens mail, will also close direct on Sun-
I day and Thursday, ut 7 p. m. on the Georgia side
By this route, packets lor tiie northern part of Ala-

Whereas il is desirable to ascertain the wishes
of tile citizens of this state, ns to the mode of
phasing Electors of President and Vice President
ofthe United States:
Be it therefore resolved by the Senate and House
of Representatives of the State of Georgia in Gen
eral assembly met, That it shall be the duty of the
Magistrates who shall preside ut the several Elec
tions to be held in the different counties of this
State for the choice of members of the Legislature,
nt the next General Election therein, to propose
to each and every voter at the time of receiving
his vote, whether lie desires that the choice of
said Electors shall be confined to the people or
retained by the Legislature, and to request such
voter to signify such desire by endorsiqg on his
tickcnt, the word people or Legislature, according
to the truth ofthe truth ofthe fact; and on count
ing out the ballots, to annex to the return ofthe
said election by them so transmitted to the Exe
cutive Department, a true statement of the votes
so given, to the end that the same may be laid be
fore the next Legislature by his Excellency the
Governor.
And be it further resolved, That his Excellency
the Governor be and he is hereby requested to
cause this resolution to be published without de
lay, in the several Gazettes of this State, and to
continue the said publication once a month, until
the next Genera! Election.

N OTICE is hereby given to the proprietors of
the six per cent stock of 1813 loun of $16*
000,000, and loun of $7,600,000, that books will
be opened at the Treasury of the United States
und ut the several loun offices, on the first of Ju
ly next, to continue open until the first day of
October thereafter, for receiving subscriptions for
such parts of said stock us shall, on the duy of
subscription, stand on. the books of the Treasury,
und on those of the iban offices respectively, pur
suant to the provisions of the act of Congress
passed the 26th of May, 1824, entitled “an act to
authorise the Secretary of the Trcusury to ex
change a stock bearing an interest of one and a
half per cent for certain stocks bearing an inter
est of six per cent.”
The subscription may be made by the proprie
tors of the stock, either in person or by their at
torneys duly authorized to subscribe and transfer
it to the United Stutes.
The certificates are to be surrendered ut the

“ Several years have elapsed since the publica-

time, as swelling in the bones, loss of appetite, loss
of flesh and loss of sleep. Noticing un advertise
ment of Swalm's Panacea, to be a cure for tho
above disease, I got some by paying the cash for

thing but my labor to depend on for a living, and
not being able to work for a longtime, got so that
I was not able lojiay for it. Some months ufter
this, I beard of a Mr. Shinn's having made a Pa
nacea, stated to be the same as Mr. Swaim’si I ap
plied to him and stated my case and circumstances
aud found him disposed to benefit me. He gave
me the medicine freely, and said I might pay for it
wheuever 1 got able; and 1 found, by taking the
same quantity, as much benefit by il us by. Mr.

ing been accompanied by severe pains through my

could scarcely put ray toes to the ground, and wa*’
obliged to walk with a crotch. In February last
I bought some of J. Shinn’s Panacea, and after
taking three bottles, find that 1 am free from pain,
and that my leg is restored to its natural use.
I am induced to make this public for tiie benefit
