rels Navy Beef, and 2100 h irrels Navy
Pot k, fur the use of tho United StateP Na
val Service. 1000 barrels of Beef, and
800 barrels of Pork, to be delivered at each
of the United States Navy Y-uds; Chai les-
town. Massachusetts. Brooklyn,No"’-York
aud Norfolk, Virginia; and tho whole quan
tity must be delivcicd, at each and every
Navy Yard; by the 1st of Aiujl, 1830. Tilts
whole quantity of the said Beef and Pork,
put«t be of the best quality. The Beef
must he packed fiom well fatted cattle,
weighing not less than 4C0 lbs in f/re quar
ter, or ffOO lbs. on the hoof, all tho Ug$* kg-
rounds* clods, checks, sh ins* and the neck of
each animal, must' he wholly excluded fi om
(he barrel, and the remainder of tho car
cass must be cut into pieces of 10 lbs. each,
as neat us may be, so that twenty pieces
will make u barrel of 200 lbs v ndU weight,
of Navy Beef. The Pork must be corn
fed and well fatted, all l\\e skulls* fett.and
hind tegs entire must bo wholly excluded
from the barrel, and tho remainder of the
Hog must be cut Into pieces of 8;lbs. each
as near as may be, so that 2* pieces, not
more than three of which shall be shoulders
will make a barrel of200‘lbs. tiott weight
of Navy Pork. The whole quantity of tne
said Beef and Pork must be perfectly sal
ted in the fust instance with, and after
wards parked with a sufficient ouantiiy of
the best Turk's Islands, Isle of May, or St.

mart of\Vhite 1 Oak or Whita-Ash, free
from sap, with one iron hoop on each
chime, and otherwise fully ami substonlial-

ed on Us head. “Navy Reef,” or "Na-
[vy Pork,” ivilh the “Contracvor’, name.”
and tho ” year” when packed. All the
said Beef and Pork on delivdry at the res
