On last Tuesday night, a short
while after dark as M R. Chastain
and J. L. Edmondson Jr., were in
a buggy together dtiving slowly tip
the road, above town, they were
instantly met, by little Heck EJ
Qmndson, who was riding rapid!
on horse-back iu the opposite di¬
rection In the collision one of the
buggy shafts was thrusUd through
the heart of the horse which Heck
was riding, killing the htrse in¬
stantly, Bnd breaking the buggy to
pieces. No other damage was
done, but Heck was badly sco-ird,
and Messrs Chastain atul Edmond¬
son were non pi used lor a moment
to know what was the matter.
