Jumbo Jewett, a gentleman
weighing 649 pounds spent a few
days at the Murdoch House in Dal¬
ton last week, and appeared at the
Opera House Friday and Saturday
nights to be looked at.
Cohuttah Springs is the watering
place of the South, and we trust,
ere long, that Mr. Brown, the own¬
er, will realize this fact and expend
a few hundred dollars in improving
these Springs.
Mr Hardy Greeson hurried one
of his children on Monday of last
week and on Friday night his little
boy four years old died and was
burried at the Spring Place ceme¬
tery on Saturday evening.
Jase Robinson is the lucky fish¬
erman of the season. He caught a
blue cat fish out of the Connasauga
river one night last week that
weighed sixteen and threefourth
pounds.

Monday.

ry election on next Saturday which
will determine who will be our
candidate for the Senate. We trust
that Whitfield will look well to the
interest of the State as well as to
the District, before she acts and
see that the candidate has the
right kind of planks in his platform
to suit the emergency of the next
General Assembly,

dies and gentlemen of this commu¬
nity enjoyed quite a nice fish fry
to day at the pic nic at Coosawattee
Tannery. The yonng people spent
a very pleasant day.
Col. Julian Hart of Gordon coun¬
ty was quite a favorite among the
ycung ladies, (after he plunged the
river and seined out some fish for
the fry.)
Crops are good and politics plen¬
ty. So good wishes for Cleveland
and the North Georgia Times.
