of the executive committee, be ¬
ing absent, Mr. C. G. James, of
Polk, called the convention to
order and Mr. McKamy of Mur
ray, was nominated and made

made permanent chairman of
the Executive committee, for
the 7th District, after which
Col. McKinney, of the Cobb
delegation put m nomination
the name of Mr. Clements.

for it was then evident that
there woold be no opposition
and the motion to nominate
Clements by acclamation was
made and earned without op¬
position, and the Hon, Judson
C. Clements was declared to
succeed himself in the next
Congress 1

The Eleventh Georgia Regi¬
ment met in Atlanta on last
Friday, for the first time since
they laid down their arms at
Appomattox Court house.
