This is the season of “marrying
and giving in marriage.” Doubt

been recently Knit ten “married”
and of othars, is to b<- written soon.
To such wo commend the follow
ing, which we clip from the Wes
leyan :
“Many of the errors of life admit
of remedy. A 1<>ss in one business
may be repaired by a gain in an
other; a miscalculation til's year
may be retrieved by special car.
next; a bad partnership may he dis
solved, an injury repaired, a w rong-
step retraced.
.But an error in marriage goes to
the very root and foundation of life.
It has been said that no man is ut
terly ruined until he has muni d a
worthless wife; and so even - wo-
inan has a future before her until
she is chained in wedlock which i-
a puclock, to a wretched and un
worthy man. The deed once done
cannot he recalled. The wine <>i
life is wasted and the goblet is bro
ken, and no tears and toils can
bring back the precious draught.
Let the young think of this, and
let them walk carefully in uwoild
of snares, and take heed to their
steps lest in the most critical event
of lift they go fatally astray.
Put here we must guard against
another error. Many people think
they have made a mistake in marri
age when the mistake is only in
tbeir own behaviour since they
