FORMANS IRON PLOW STOCK?"
fjJNHE undersigned Laving
urJ’LOW STOCK for the
Columbia, Lincoln, Burke, Jefferson, Washington,
.-'.•riven and Emanuel, are prepared to furnish it to
,‘danters at the Manufacturer's price. This stock,
a hich is made entirely of wrought iron, is a Sou th
ru invention ; and has been sufficiently tested by
• e most practical and successful planters in the
v.mntry, as numerous certificates in our possession
;ll snow, to prove that, when provided with suita
ble shares, it runs more steadily, breaks and pul
the soil more thoroughly, clogs less in rough
had, is more easily adjusted for deep or shallow
plowing, holds the shares more firmly, lasts incom
' trahlv longer, and is. in the end, far cheaper than
any other stock now in use.
In the November number of the Southern Culti
vator, p. 545, the editor of that work, says: “After
ilium; this Plow a tair and impartial trial, we can
truly say that we regard it as a most valuable im
provement on all common wooden implements of
'lie kind nowin use. For general efficiency and
convenience, as well as special adaptation to deep
’. 'ti’ iiren/ifu,, >r\ we know of nothing that sur
; ; .--'S it; while on ’he - ore Os economy and dura
oily, it is altogether unrivalled. No Plow with j
which we are acquainted is Sowell calculated to
list the careless and destructive usage of planta
tion negroes, and we doubt not that its general in- j
{reduction would be of very great pecuniary benefit j
:•> the planting itm-r* sts of’the South. Such is the j
[■inion ot the editor of the Cultivator, and such is j
ihe opinion of all who, like him, have given the
slow a fair and impartial trial. This stock is j
a iapt.-d to six different points or shares, including !
. . . . variety which a planter will need from the i
beginning to the end of the year. These shares i
vill ho furnished with the stock when desired, j
. -.ugh any plantation South can make them after I
-nr - ' ••cog them. The stock is the only part of j
the plow patented.
Circulars, containing certificates, and a more i
iiinute description of the Plow, may be obtained j

f HI HE undersigned having permanently located

several years’ experience in teaching, and a con

passed by any similar Institution in the State. To
parents, therefore, designing to give their sous a

tendered, since a thorough acquaintance with the

Academy Pupils will be prepared to enter the high

The accessibility, health and quietness of their
