Up to Monday ofthis week the weather has been delightful, when a warm rain visited us, which was quite welcome in the city, though the probability now is that it wil! “ turn off” cold with a heavy frost in the morning, which will finish up tho Cotton that has been spared by the f osts of last week- Our exchanges from all quarters have accounts of frosts, and our opinion is that the Cotton crop can now he estimated at abont 1,500,000 bales. COTTON.—We left the market last week with a downward tendency, which continued for a day or too subsequent to our report. Since then the market has gradually stiffened, and we are able to renew tho quotations of last week, with the remark that the de mand is very brisk little offering on the market. Holders are firm and in may cases are awaiting an ad vance. We quote : Middling 34@— Strict Middling 35® — Good Middling 36@ — The receipts to the 23d inst. were 8,644 hales. The receipts since are 3,040 hales. Total to date 11,684 bales. The sales to the 23d inst. were 8,930 hales. The sales since 'are 1,782 bales. Total to date 10,712 bales. DOMESTICS Augusta Factory- Goods are firm at quotations. BACON.—There is a fair stock on hand; the demand is good and prices are firm. CORN.—The demand is quite active and the stock on hand is light. We quote an advance of sc. per bushel. See price list, WHEAT is very scarce, and it is almost impossible to get a good lot in the city. BAGGING is dull and prices are barely sustained. MILES G. BROOME. Teerkll, Cocntt, Gi. This is to certify that I had a negr > man severely afflicted with Dropsy in 1863, he had beCD treated by the best medical skill in my section without much benefit, he was greatly swollen and his legs looked as though the flesh would all leave the hone : I looked for him to die. I finally concluded to order medicine and put him under the treatment of Dr. M. G. Beooms, who made a permanent cure of him. Ido cheerfully recommend to all afllicted with Dropsey to apply to him and follow his directions and a permanent cure will be the result. octl6-dac2 •7- A ' MIMH ENGLISH AND FRENCH BOARDING AND DAI SCHOOL, FOR YOUNG LADIES, 3 LEGARE STREET, CUARESTON, 8. These two great speciticsof the Doctor are fast superseding all the stereotyped nostrums of the day. Extraordinary cures by Magglel’s Pills and Salve have opened the eyes of the public to the inelficiency of the (so called) remedies of others, and upon which people have so long blindly depended. Maggiel's Pills are not of the class that are swallowed by the dozen, and of which every box full taken creates an absolute necessity for another. One or two of Maggiel’s Pills suffices to place the bow< Is In perfect order, tone the stomach, create an appet.-e, aDd render the spirits light and buoy ant !
