Them is no man, let him be who he may, whose personal ambition should not be made a secondary consideration to the peace and harmony of the county, and we here caution an I warn tiie good people against any man whose self elevation is of more importance to him than the peace and harmony of Ins county. Such a man is unworthy of your suf frage, and desires to accomplish his ov. n sellish ends, for his own selfish purposes, and not for the good of the county. Beware ol men, who are unwilling to leave | their interests in the hands of a convention of disinterested men, j selected for their honesty and up : rightness, by honest men, but who | prefer to work secretly, by going I from one to another soliciting their pledged support to them, or trying by tricks anil schemes to advance their interest. There are no issues in the conn ty, over which our people should be disturbed, and anyone who would seek to introduce ticir is sues for the purpose of stirring up strife among neighbors and peaceable citizens, with a hop* that his interests might be ad vanccd, does not deserve theii support. Let us lay aside our personal ambitions our petty prejudices, and personal animosities for one lime, and, like the convention in Atlanta, select the best men b represent us, both in the House and Senate—men that we all have confidence in, and respect for their lidi lily to principle. We offer these suggestions for the careful consideration of every citizen in Randolph county, ii j view of the fact that the delegates j to the County and Senatorial < 'on : volitions are to be selected on Sat i sirday, August 3(Xh, t > meet here and nominate candidates tor these j respective offices. We have not. nor is it our intention, through these columns, to advocate the claims of any one for either of t he offices. The people know who will, and w ho will no!, do to trust, and il they sit still and allow po iitic.-il tricksters to cheat them out of honest representation, they will have no one to blame but them selves.
