Drew, one of Q’s DJs received
a call from a Ramsgate Drive
resident telling about his
efforts to get a Persian cat out
of a tree. The cat had been up
there for two days, and all
efforts were exhausted trying
for help. The caller wanted to
know if any of Harley’s
listeners could help.
Well the caller got his wish, a

read this nifty edition of the
News Review, it will be the
123rd day of 1973, with 242
days left in the year.
Now hear this, from Fort
Gordon comes the news that
liquid marijuana has been
found in the possession of a
soldier.
According to information
received, it was the first time
the military encountered the
drug in the United States.
However civilian authorities
reported finding some of the
same type drugs in Atlanta
area.
Here’s a zippy bit that ought
to make you flip. The basic
concepts of astrology date
back over five thousand years.
Astrologists say that the
position of the sun, moon and
planets at the time of your
birth affects your entire life.
So people born at different
times of the year tend to have
different potential
characteristics.
Students at the Atlanta
University held a mock
mayoral election recently and
polled 2,113 votes out of a
possible 2,525 for an 89.3
percent show of strength for
Atlanta vice-mayor Maynard
Jackson.
The student organization
called The Movement for Black
Unity, are disturbed that three
blacks have announced being in
the mayoral race and it seems
apparent other blacks will too.
Calling on the black
community to select one black
candidate a student spokesman
said, “splitting the black vote is
often a strategy of those who
do not wish to see black people
in office.
Aside from Jackson, State
Senator Leroy Johnson, and
Dr. W.J. Stafford in the race
thus far.
A sport note from Atlanta:
The Atlanta Hawks
professional basketball team
have always said, they are one
good forward from being a
winning team.
Well there are as of this
writing, five ex-Hawk forwards
considered not good enough
for the Atlanta team playing in
the National and American
Basketball Association
playoffs, all five just happen to
be black.
The ex-Hawk forwards are
Joe Caldwell (Carolina Cougars
- ABA), Zelmo Beatty (also of
the ABA), Walt Hazzard
(Golden State Warriors • NBA),
Paul Silas (Boston Celtics -
NBA) and Bill Bridges playing
with such greats as Wilt
Chamberlain, Jerry West nad
Gail Goodrich, on the Los
