David Bass Eddie Lee Ivery is coming home. Eddie Lee Ivery is coming home. It probably won’t be for several years yet, but the Thom pson, Ga., native says that when he has finished playing football, he plans on retuning to this area. Ivery, 27, set several records playing football at Thompson ; High and at Georgia Tech. In 1978 m as half-back, he helped lead the Yellowjackets to the Peach Bown as their all-time leading rusher, scrambling a record-setting 357 yards in a single game. lyery is presently staying with his mother and grandmother in "a »■ EDUCATOR L.K. His six years with the Packers I have been frustrating. Plagued by I knee and back injuries, last year I was the first complete season Ivery I played since joining the Packers. I Presently, Ivery has been talking E to people about his future plans. | “Football is a non-lasting I sport,” he says, “The normal ex- I pectancy is four years.
