Terrell county, the first county to adopt the dispensary, which made money enough to pay all fixes, on last Thursday voted to abolish the dispensary, and adopted( prohibition. Tlie vote stood 547 against 393 for the dispensary. Atlanta has been chosen as tire place for holding the State Fair in 1907. This was decided upon at a meeting of the executive committee of the State Fair Association in Atlanta last week. Polk was represented at this meeting by Mr. John L. Moore, of Aragon. There is one railroad problem In Georgia that ought to be right easy to settle. Hon. Bowdre Phinlzy, of Augusta, has published some sweep ing charges as to the run-down con dition of the Georgia Railroad. Gen eral Manager T. K. Scott, of that road, denies the truth of these state ments, and offers a special engine and coach for Mr.Phinizy and the Rail road Commission to travel over the line free of charge and make the most thorough investigation of Its condition. The ract ought to be easy. Mr. H. W. Stanley, formerly Train Master for this division of the Sea board. has been nude Superlntend- ent of Transportation for the entire system.
