The Tallapoosa High School team came over Friday to meet our school boys, and went back with only a “goofee egg" In their favor so far as the game was Concerned, while our team piled up a score of t l l. The visi tors, however, showed good grit and sportsmanship in coming at all. They set a splendid example to all school teams by barring four of their best, players because they had proved de ficient in scholarship, and they knew themselves to be hopelessly crippled before they came, but filled their en gagement nevertheless. The school spirit •which insists on scholarship as a prerequisite for par ticipation in team * athletics cannot be too highly commended, and we are glad that our own High School has a similar rule. When such a wise rule is rigidly enforced, school uthletics can very properly be encouraged, and we wish to compliment hot it schools on its adoption and enforcement. The Judge Uses Forceful Language. Judge W. B. Simmons of Flnmatls, Va., told the reporter that L. & M. Paint was used on his residence in 1882, and held its color well for 21 years; he furthermore said that 3 years ago lie was induced to use an other paint and is sorry he did, because the other paint didn’t make good. The judge will now always use L. & M., because he knows if any defect exists in L. & M. Paint the house will be repainted for nothing. The L. & M. Zinc hardens the L. it M. White Lead and makes L. it M. Paint wear like iron for 10 to 15 years. Actual cost of L. & M. about $1.20 per gallon. Donations of L. & M. made to churches. Sold by T. F. Burbank, Cydartown; Rock mart Drug Co., Rockmart. It Is funny how a political defeat can help a man to see disaster ahead for his country. RIGHT BREATHING CERES CA TARRH. Simple Way to Kill Cularrlial Germs in Nose, Throat and Lungs. The only natural and common sense method known for the cure of catarrh al troubles is Hy-o-mei. It is breathed through an ingenious pocket inhaler, so that its medicated air readies the most remote air-cells of the nose, throat and lungs, killing all catarrhal germs, soothing the irritated mucous membrane, and restoring a healthy condition. Hy-o-mei goes right to the spot Where the catarrhal germs are present in the nose, throat and lungs and de stroys the germs so that perfect healtl is soon restored. A complete Hy-o-mei outfit with in haler costs but $1.00 and is sold by T. F. Burbank under guarantee to refund the money unless the remedy gives satisfaction. The Mhy Issue of McClure’s Maga zine Is both Important and pleasing, The first article is C. P. Connolly’s “The Fight of the Copper Kings,’ in which are described in a vivid manner the struggde between F. Augustus lleinze and the Amalgamated Copper Company, the picturesque campaign of 1000 and re-election of Clark to the Senate, and the beginning of the great legal battle over the Butte Hill. “Chicago as Seen by Herself” pic tures those conditions of life in Chi cago that have developed as a natural result of its exlstant government which George Klbbe Turner described last month in “The City of Chicago." The readers of fiction will be de lighted with the May McClure’s, for it contains an unusual array of ex ceedingly good stories. One advantage in being very rich is that you do not have to worry a- bout what the rest of the world thinks about it. Deafness Cannot bit Cured by local applications, as they cannot reach the diseased portion of the ear. There is only one way to cure deaf ness, and that is by constitutional remedies. Deafness is caused by an inflamed condition of the mucous lin ing of the Eustachian Tube. When this tube is inflamed you have a rumbling sound or imperfect hearing, and when it is entirely closed, Deaf ness is the result, and unless the in flammation can be taken out and this tube restored to its normal con dition, hearing, will be destroyed for ever; nine cases out of ten are caused by Catarrh, which is nothing but an inflamed condition of the mucous surfaces. We will give One Hundred Dollars for any case of Deafness (caused by catarrh) that cannot be cured by Hall’s Catarrh Cure. Send for cir culars. free. F. W. CHENEY & CO.,Toledo,O.
