CLOSING OUT BUSINESS. [inning Saturday, June 8th 1907, I will close out all my stock of MIL LINERY GOODS and LADIES’ FUR NISHINGS, all new and standard materi als. Drop skirts in white and black, all new and just in store, to go at a big bar gain. A largo crowd attended Children's Day at Bellview Sunday. Mrs. Frances Blissitt has returned from an extended stay in Canton and Atlanta. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Harrison and children, of Cedartown. were called here by the death of their sister and aunt, Mrs. Geo. Waddle, Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Pendley, a well known minister of Rome, will preach Pleasant Valley on the fifth Sunday Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Callahan visited Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Pullen Sunday at Flint Hill. Mr. Wiley Cheatwood, of Fish, was in Byrds Friday shaking hands with his many friends. The all-day singing at Live Oak church near Seney next Sunday will be largely attended,and the crowd will be well entertained, and well-fed. Profs. Lee. " The Farmers’ Club heid a very in teresting meeting at the residence of Mr. Phillip Gatewood last Saturday evening. Many questions of interest were discussed, and the matter of “the extinction of "rats” will form the subject for discussion at the next meeting, and a witty member say it will he styled a "ratification' meeting. Mr. Grover JonrH, of Atlunta, Is visiting home folks this week. Grover has many friends here who are al ways glad to see him. W. M. C. W. R. They express hemselves as having spent a delight ful time. Mrs. Nellie Cook, a most estimable lady of Van Wert, died last Thurs day and was laid to rest in the. city cemetery Friday. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley I Simpson and a chri tian lady In every respect. She left one little daughter ith scores of relatives and friends to mourn her Iobh. Our sympathy goes out to the hereavtd ones In their affliction. Our base ta'l team crossed bats with the Dallas team here last Friday afternoon, and the game was lull of ginger" from start to finish, wind ing up with a seore of 1 to 0 in of our boys. It was by far the prettiest game that has been played in Kockmart In years. Your correspondent had the pleas ure of attending the Children’s Day exercises of the Bellview Sabbath School last Sunday. The occasion was an enjoyable one In every respect. The address of welcome by Rev. W. A. Cheatwood and the lectures on Sabbath Schools, their advantages and their possibilities by Rev. J. A. Rob inson and Mr. J. T. Sorrells, were Interesting and full of good things that should be remembered and prac ticed by old and young alike. The program arranged for the younger people was an Interesting one and was carried out to the letter, the participants acquitting themselves In a manner that should be gratifying to any community. The song service was good, especially the old "Sacred Harp," which caused a refreshing of bygone memories to the minds of the old grey-halred mothers and fathers gathered there for the oc casion. And then that glorious din ner that the good women had pre pared was Indeed a feast fit for the gods, and we think an humble mail carrier’s opinion should be worth something on such questions, conclusion we must say that genuine hospitality we commend the good people of Bellview to the world worthy of pattern, and we hope that as time passes the Sabbath School at that place will grow In numbers and usefulness to thomBelves and their fellow beings.
