Kenney chairman and A. C. Auchmuty secre-, tary. The object of this League, as stated by the chairman, Is to uphold law and order, and to put down nil kinds of evil, und especially that of drunk enness and Sabbath desecration. There were present between forty and fifty substantial citizens, who pledged themselves to the furtherance of the principles set forth. Vigilance Comhlittee, consisting or seven, was appointed, whose duty it is to report any violations that may come under their observation. This committee is further Instructed and authorized to proceed as in their judgment seems best if a case should occur that requires immediate action.
