Application for Charter. State of Georgia, County of Polk. To the Superior Court of said County: The petition of H. N. VanDevander, of said State and County, and his associates prays: 1. For themselves and such other persons as may hereafter become as sociated with them, and their suc cessors, to be incorporated and made a body politic under the name and style of ALACOOSA COMPANY, with the privilege of using a corporate seal, and altering same at pleasura make by-laws, elect officers and do all oilier arts and things necessary and proper to carry Into effect the object of this charter, and to exercise in general all pow< rs Incident to such corporations and necessary for th.j transaction of the business for which ll is incorporated. 2. The object of said corporation is pecuniary gain, to be obtained by the pursuit of one or more or all of the businesses, to-wit: To receive, lease, purchase, hold and use prop erty, and convey, s 11. lease,mortgage and otherwise d'spcse of property of I all kinds and in any manner that a natural person might lawfully dispose I of similar property, and to develop mines and quarries; to sell, ship or otherwise dispose of all kinds of min erals; to build and operate, or sell ! or lease tram ways or tram cars, to manufacture and sell lumber, to buy ! and sell lands, to borrow money and l .sue notes, mortgages or other con veyances, either absolute or in trust, upon all property of Bald corporation. 3. The capital stock of said cor poration to be one thousand dollars, divided into shares of ten dollars each and each share shall entitle the holder thereof to one vote in all meetings of the stockholders. The capital stock may be lncreas«d to any amount not to exceed one hundred thousand dol lars, by a vote of two-thirds of the stock; said corporation shall organ ize whenever fifty per cent of the capital stock shall have been pa d in. either In cash or property, by elect ing a president and such other offi cers as- may be necessary to carry out the object of this charier, and said officers shall issue, or cause to be issued certificates of stottii represen ting his or her Interest. 4. All sales and transfers of stock in said corporation must, in order to be valid, be entered on books of said corporation, either by owner of said stock or by hiB or her aturne;- in fact. 5. The principal office of said cor poration shall be in Cedartown, said State and County, and the rights and privileges granted herein shall be valid and remain in force for the term of twenty years from the date of the approval hereof, with the priv ilege of amending and renewal. 6. Your petit loners pray the passin of an order by the said honorable court, grunting this, their application for a charter as herein before set forth, and your petitioners will oveJ pray, etc. This 8th day of July, 1907.
