The New York Giants, looking for something good in the way of promising material, have now annex ed him. His host of friends wish and predict for him a successful record in his new surroundings. Good Institute. The Institute held lust week, con ducted by J. O. Martin, Supervisor, Miss Parker and Wm. Janes, C. S. S., was in attendance, interest and zeal a complete success. The ussociution of tho teachers with each other wus no ticeably pleasant. Everyone seemed to get pleasure as well ns profit out of the Institute. Muny visiting tea chers and friends were present, and they too seemed to enjoy it. If there lind been any monolomy—and there was not—it would have been relieved by a speech of Mr. J. E. Purks, Su perintendent of the City Schools. Mr. Purks made a practical talk, that all enjoyed and profited from, that none other could have made so well. It was agreed heartily, without a dissenting voice, that the principals of the County Schools meet with Mr. Purks at the High School building in Cedartown on March 4th, to discuss questions vital to the interest of the schools of Polk county. Polk must come to the front on all educational linos, and she is doing it. xxx Mr. Jns. M.
