Martin
Thomas Beeland “Tommy”
Martin, Jr., 84, of Reynolds,
GA. died Thursday, July 11,
2024, at The Oaks Nursing
Home.
Funeral services were held
Sunday, July 14, 2024, at 2:30
p.m., at Trinity Church of
Reynolds. Burial followed in
New Prospect Free Will Bap
tist Church Cemetery.
Tommy was a member of
Trinity Church of Reynolds.
After being a Boy Scout for
many years, he earned Ragle
Scout, the highest rank at
tainable in the Scout program.
In 1958, he won the State
track 100-yard dash. He grad
uated from Mercer University
and the University of Georgia
and was a retired educator,
teaching at Hall County Board
of Education and Bibb Coun
ty Board of Education. He
was also a Mason at Flowery
Branch Masonic Lodge.
He was preceded in death by
his parents, Thomas Beeland
Martin, Sr, and Marie Free
man Gilson; a son. Todd Bee-
land Martin; and two grand
sons, Matthew Martin and
Travis Martin.
He is survived by his wife,
Joanie Martin of Reynolds;
two sons, Tim Martin (Wen-
dy Ward) of Missouri and
Trent Martin (Beth Dcrmy) of
Flowery Branch; one daugh
ter, Tammy (Todd) Dudley of
Sandersville; one step-sister,
Gloria Sampson of Butler;
two grandchildren, Amber
(Jake) Beaty of Mt. Airy and
Patrick Martin of Gainesville;
two great grandchildren, Rae-
lynn Beaty and Everly Davy; a
niece and nephew; and several
cousins.

Will Baptist Church for the Homecoming Service on Sunday morning, Aug,
4th, at 10 a.m. The church is located at 911 Roberta Hwy., Butler. Everyone is

Children ages 3 years through 12 years old, go and have some fun at Vaca
tion Bible School at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, 349 Mt, Pisgah Baptist Church
Road, The theme this year is “Hometown Nazareth,” where Jesus was a kid.
The children will explore what it was like to live in the town where Jesus grew
up. They will participate in Bihle-times market places, sing catchy songs, play
games, dive into Bible-time snacks, visit with Jesus’ mom, Mary, collect Bible
Memory Markers to remind them of God’s Word. They will also participate in
a hands on mission project to help Motivational Ministries share the gospel in
Mexico. The VBS schedule is Sunday, July 21st, through Thursday, July 25th,
from 6 to 8 p.m, each night. Parents Night w'ill he Thursday night. Kids go at
6 p.m., and parents go at 6:30 p.m. Pre-registration forms are available at the

surer for many years, and was

of Taylor County, worked at
the Reynolds Library, and was
a homemaker.
She was preceded in death

JROTC ARMY INSTRUCTOR
Level: High School (7-12)

Job Posting Close Date: 07/21/2024
Required Education: Must hold Associate’s degree or obtained within 5
years of being hired.
Certification/Licensure: Must hold Junior ROTC US Army Cadet Com
mand Certification. Must obtain Permit through Georgia Professional
Standards Commission in addition to their service certification.
Experience Qualifications:
1. Must be honorably discharged; minimum of 10 years of service
2. or retired from the United States Army in the grade of SSG thru CSM
or CW1 - CW5 within 3 years
3. Experience working with youth preferred,
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
* Experience working with youth and culturally diverse groups
* Ability to apply critical thinking skills in rendering solutions to various
issues
* Ability to collaborate effectively with District personnel, the general
public, and work with diverse groups of people
* Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
* Excellent organizational and leadership skills
