Tables were decorated with birthday bags with streamers and balloons and a birthday cake with a 110 year candle on top. Chapter Regent Mar- velyn Boyette called the meeting to order and conducted the Ritual and flag ceremo nies. Chaplain Becky Anderson directed a Memorial Service in honor of daughters who had passed away dur ing 2018. Brenda Bush read a tribute for Past Regent Frances Bishop and Sandi Driskill read a tribute for Past Regent Virginia McMichael. Vice Regent Betty Hatcher gave the Past Regents in attendance a long stem red rose tied with white ribbons as their name and years of office were announced. Past Regents present were: Mrs. Ray Tyner (Shirley) 1998-2000, Mrs. C. Lamar Clifton (Evelyn) 2000-2002, Mrs. William L. Bush, Jr. (Brenda) 2002-2004, Mrs. Wendall Prince (Julie) 2004-2006, Mrs. Donald Driskill (Sandi) 2006-2008, Mrs. Wil liam D. Moorhead III (Gena) 2008-2010, Mrs. Alex E. Fazekas (Kathy) 2012-2014, Mrs. Robert Eddie Holloway (Lot tie) 2014-2016, and Mrs. William S. Ragan (Kay) 2016-2018. Past Regent Evelyn Clifton presented a program on the History of the DAR and included information about the forming of Thronateeska Chapter as well as some of the history of Albany. Thronateeska Chapter NSDAR was chartered January 4, 1895 at the Albany residence of Mrs. William M. Strother (Louise Bacon). Mrs. Stroth er was elected Regent. The gavel used at each meeting was presented to the Chapter by Mrs. Strother. It is inscribed: “Presented to the Thronateeska Chapter DAR by Louise Bacon Strother, 1895, from wood grown in Midway Churchyard, 1752.” The chapter was reorganized in 1909 after a period of inactivity. The Chapter has been a strong influ ence in both state and national Societies since that time. Members of the Host ess Committee were Chairman Betty Hatch er, Brenda Bush, Shan non Thompson, Nancy Brown and Ellen Harris.
