Lee County Middle School East Honor students have been working on projects that better their understand ing of irrigation and water conservation as it impacts Lee County. Mr. Rich Hosmer of the Unit ed States Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resource Conservation Service recently spoke to students about this topic. After he shared the information, students got busy designing devices that mimic irrigation. Students were chal lenged by their science teacher, Mrs. Dolly Gill, to create a device that could move two cups of water three feet and deposit the water into two containers. Students worked on their devices and had three trial runs in class before Mr. Hosmer returned so that dents received scores for their presentation, which focused on clear commu nication; the engineering design process, which included documenting failures and successes as well as recording modifications; and the effectiveness of the de sign, which required the device to fill two differ ent containers with equal amounts of water. After the presentations of the final device runs, Mr. Hosmer spoke to the students about engineer ing and how it relates to water conservation. He stressed the impor tance of teamwork and perseverance, remind ing students that they need to learn to work through any problems they encounter dur ing designing, testing, LEE COUNTY PRIMARY KINCHAFOONEE PRIMARY BREAKFAST MENU Monday, February 4 Dutch Waffles, Fruit, Milk Tuesday, February 5 Cereal, Toast, Fruit, Milk Wednesday, February 6 Chicken & Waffles, Fruit, Milk Thursday, February 7 Cereal, Toast, Fruit, Milk Friday, February 8 Ham Biscuit, Fruit, Milk LEE COUNTY SCHOOLS BREAKFAST MENU Monday, February 4 Dutch Waffles or Cereal, Toast, Fruit, Milk Tuesday, February 5 Blueberry Pancake Pup or Cereal, Toast, Fruit, Milk Wednesday, February 6 Chicken & Waffles or Cereal, Toast Fruit, Milk Thursday, February 7 Sausage & Cheese Biscuit or Cereal, Toast, Fruit, Milk Friday, February 8 Ham Biscuit, or Cereal, Toast, Fruit, Milk KINCHAFOONEE PRIMARY & LEE COUNTY PRIMARY SCHOOL LUNCH MENU Monday, February 4 Chicken Nuggets, Mac-n-Cheese Baked Beans, Broccoli, Fruit, Milk Tuesday, February 5 Pepperoni Pizza, Seasoned Corn Breaded Okra, Fruit, Milk Wednesday, February 6 PB&J Sandwich, Cheese Stick or BBQ on Bun Baked Chips, Garden Peas Roasted California Veggies, Fruit, Milk Thursday, February 7 Popcorn Chicken, Biscuit, Mashed Potatoes with Gravy, Black-eyed Peas, Fruit, Milk Friday, February 8 Fish Sticks, Smiley Potatoes, Fruit, Milk Dave, From page 2C Kennesaw State’s Fall 2018 President’s List Special to the Ledger Kennesaw State Uni versity recently named students to the Presi dent’s List, in recogni tion of their academic excellence for the Fall 2018 semester. You bet there is! File a police report imme diately, and if possible, have this guy arrested. He has committed criminal fraud, and it’s not something you should take lightly. Also, put a fraud victim alert on your credit bureau reports today. Don’t stop with just alerting the credit card companies about this situation. You should be speaking with and communicating via email—plus snail mail, if necessary—directly with the fraud victim division at every credit card company involved. Make sure they under stand this is a denial of responsibility and not simply a dispute. Let them know you’re sorry this happened, but explain that all these charges in your names are the result of a criminal act perpe trated against you. You may have to stand your ground with the credit card companies, because some of them might try to get you to pay it, anyway. Don’t do it! —Dave * Dave Ramsey is CEO of Ramsey Solu tions.
