Page 8A,The Lee County Ledger, Wednesday, March 6, 2019 DOR to Begin Accepting Timber Tax Credit Applications March 1,2019 Special to the Ledger In November of 2018, the Georgia General As sembly enacted House Bill 4EX. This bill al lows eligible taxpayers to apply for a Timber Tax Credit to assist in offsetting the substantial economic losses in curred during Hurricane Michael. Per House Bill 4EX, eligible timber properties must be lo cated in the disaster area established in Executive Order 11.06.18.01, which includes the following counties: Baker, Bleck ley, Brooks, Calhoun, Clay, Colquitt, Crisp, Decatur, Dodge, Dooly, Dougherty, Early, Grady, Laurens, Lee, Lowndes, Miller, Mitchell, Pulas ki, Randolph, Seminole, Sumter, Terrell, Thomas, Tift, Turner, Wilcox, and Worth. Eligible taxpay ers may apply for preap proval beginning on Friday, March 1, 2019, at 8am on the Depart ment’s Georgia Tax Center. LEE COUNTY HEAD START REGISTRATION The Lee County Child Development Center will be taking applications for the 2019 - 2020 school year beginning on anuary 16 from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Lee Child Development Center located at 145 Groover Street. Those eligible for Head Start are children ages 3 by September 1, 2018 through age 5. Children with a diagnosed disability are welcomed to apply as well. To complete the registration process, we ask all applicants to please bring proof of child’s age (preferably certified birth certificate with file number), and all proof of family income, (preferably a 2018 Income Tax Return or W2 form, previous 12 months public assistance letter, or a WG-15 from the Ga.
