The Lee County Board of Commissioners will hold a Special Called Meeting of the Road Committee on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. in the upstairs Kinchafoonee Conference Room of the T. Page Tharp Govern mental Building, located at 102 Starksville Avenue North, Leesburg, Georgia 31763. The purpose of this meeting is to dis cuss county roads and As is their practice, the commissioners will hold a public forum. Citizens will be allowed to ad dress the commissioners regarding any issues or complaints. Individuals should sign up prior to the start of the meeting. Major Philip Cook Chapter USD 1812 Celebrates 75th Anniversary The Major Philip Cook Chapter United States Daughters 1812 recently celebrated their 75th Anniversary at the Mulberry Street United Methodist Church in Macon, Georgia. At tending the celebra tion from Albany were Brenda Bush, Martha Hill and Sandi Driskill. Special guest speaker was National President Mary Raye Kiser Casper along with National First Vice President Dianne Cannestra from Georgia, State President Sharon Sowders and Chapter President Pat Mercer. 75th Anniversary Chair man Janet Walker gave a brief history of the Ma jor Philip Cook Chapter. Newly elected officers of the Major Philip Cook Chapter USD 1812 for 2019-2021 were installed by National President Mary Casper.
