For the past four year Rhian- non Belcher has been the coordinator of this event and has raised over $16,000 for the Alzhei mer’s Association along with bringing awareness to this disease. She start ed this endeavor as a way to honor her great grand mother Vivian Belcher who passed away form the disease. Last Friday she was able to present a check to Dan Philips, the Resource Development Event Director for the Alzheimer’s Associa tion s GA Chapter for $6000! These em ployees were named the September PBIS Classified Employee of the Month and PBIS Teacher of the Month for LCMS-East! blood in support of patients with cancer and those undergoing trans plants. • The Red Cross urges donors of all blood types to give blood and support patients fight ing cancer, undergoing transplant surgeries and facing other serious illnesses. • More than 1.7 million people are expected to be diag nosed with cancer this year. Many of them will need blood, sometimes daily, while undergoing chemotherapy treatment. • Liver transplants are the second most common type of organ transplant. More than 30 units of blood may be needed during a liver transplant. The need for blood is constant and only vol unteer donors can fulfill that need for patients in our community.
