Radio System MOU With Albany Approved The Lee County Ledger, Wednesday, October 9,2019, Page 5A The Lee County Com missioners met Tues day, October 8th with Chairman Billy Mathis presiding. Pastor Aaron McCulley of Philema Road Baptist Church, gave the invocation. The commissioners ratified the approval of a Memorandum of Under standing (MOU) with the City of Albany for the P25 Radio System. Lee County has 274 radios using the P25 radio system. The total fee is $28,191.64 with the initial term of the agreement for ten years, The commissioners held a public hearing to approve a resolution transmitting a draft Cap ital Improvements Ele ment Annual Update to the Southwest Georgia Regional Commission. The review by South west Georgia Regional Commission is required by the Georgia Planning Act of 1989. A bid for a 1500 GPM Pumper for the Fire & EMS Services was approved. It will be paid for by SPLOST VII funds. The submission of an application to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR) for a boat ramp was discussed. The list of property to be declared as surplus was reviewed by the commissioners. The pro posed surplus property included a 2003 Ford F-350 Ambulance, 1999 International Dump Truck, 1995 Ford F-150 Pick Up Truck, 2003 Mercury Marquis GS and a gym Vapor Barrier The bid for resurfacing Joe Toole Drive using 2019 LMIG funds was approved. The bid for resurfacing Danbury Lane, New York Road, and West Doublegate Drive using 2019 and 2020 LMIG funds was also approved. After the discussion the Commissioners tabeled the bid for resurfacing those three roads. They will discuss this at a later date and will seperate New York Road from the other two roads. The City of Albany is requesting bathrooms facilityies to built at trailhead on the rails to trails and that the For rester Parkway Exten sion be built so that the trail will go under the Parkway. This will add approximatley $600,000 to the road construction cost.
