Prince of Leesburg was hired as the new full-time Computer Information Systems and Network ing Instructor for the South Georgia Tech nical College Crisp County Center campus effective immediate ly, announced South Georgia Technical College President Dr. John Watford. She will report to South Georgia Technical College Vice President of Academic Affairs Julie Partain and Assistant Vice President of Academic Affairs Michele Mc Gowan. Prince received a BS in Mathematics and concentration in Com puter Information Sys tems from Georgia State University. She comes to SGTC with previous teaching experience as Wendy Prince named CIS Instructor at SGTC Crisp County Center Wendy Prince joins SGTC as CIS Instructor on the Crisp County Center campus. a part-time instructor for both East Central Technical College and Albany Technical Col lege. She has Help Desk experience with Matrix and Database Adminis trator/Resources ex perience with TriMark Strategic Equipment. She also owned her own website designer busi ness, Prince Technical Solutions, for 15 years. She has high level technical skills in web design, graphic design, database, networking, Microsoft office, adobe, report writing and ac counting. Prince is married to SGTC Chief Informa tion Officer for Tech nology Gary Prince and the couple have three grown children, Mat thew, Benjamin, and Anna. She is a member of First Baptist Church of Leesburg. In her capacity as the full-time Computer Information Specialist instructor on the Crisp County Center campus, Prince will be respon sible for performing all teaching duties, demon strating competencies, knowledge and skills in the Computer Informa tion Systems program. She will plan and orga nize instruction in ways that maximize student learning and promote program retention as well as be responsible for evaluation of student performance, progress, and procedural compe tencies. She will con tribute to the program and division curriculum development processes and recruit and market her program. During the January 8th meeting of the Lee County Board of Educa tion meeting, the board approved the superinten dent’s recommendation of Danielle Whitaker to serve as the interim assistant principal at Twin Oaks Elementary School. Danielle Whita ker was a teacher at Lee County High School. She replaces Dr. Brian Holt who was recently named Twin Oaks inter im principal. Danielle Whitaker is a proud Lee County native. She matriculated through the Lee County School System from elementary through high school. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Child hood Education from the University of Georgia. Upon graduation, she returned home to Leesburg and began her teaching career at Twin Oaks Elementary School teaching Fifth Grade English Language Arts (ELA). Concurrently, she continued her academic pursuits earning a Mas ters of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from Geor gia Southwestern State University. Her journey led her to North Carolina, where she taught Fifth and Sixth Grade ELA. How ever, she quickly learned there’s no place like home and returned to Lee County to be closer to family. At Lee County Ele mentary School, she continued her career teaching Fifth Grade ELA. She transitioned to Lee County High School where she became a Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education Teacher specializing in the Teaching as a Profession Pathway. This allowed her to play a crucial role in preparing students for future ca reers in education while sharing and instilling her love for teaching. Ms. Whitaker earned a Leadership Certifica tion from the University of West Georgia. This commitment to life long learning reflects her belief in continuous improvement and excel lence in education. Now, as the interim Assistant Principal, she plans to continue sharing her passion for education with the next generation. With these funds, Mr. Conger was able to purchase seven new microscopes with smart phone adaptors to create more hands-on learning experiences for his students. The PAGE Educator Grant program was founded at the onset of the pandemic and has assisted more than 500 PAGE members in acquiring resources for them to use with their students in the classroom.
