3ANKS COUNTY JOURNAL VOL. XVII. Devoted to Giving the News, Encouraging the Progress, and Aiding the Prosperity of Banks County. Ten Reasons Why The Land Owner of this Section and Along the Proposed Rail Road Line Should Subscribe Liberally for the StocK: 1 The stock is not to be paid for until trains are running into Homer. 2 The stock will pay a dividend. 3 The railroad will double the value of your property. 4 It will pay $2,000 or $3,000 in taxes and thereby lower your taxes. 5 It will build a town where Homer is now located, and a large and commodious school building will be erected where you can educate your children without sending them to other towns. 6 It will place you in a position where you can enjoy the con venience of boarding a train without driving eight or ten miles. 7 It will create a market for your produce at your own door. i 8 It will save you hundreds of dollars in hauling fertilizers and supplies from towns 8 and 10 miles distant and your produce to town over long hauls. 10 By taking this stock you will help yourself and your neigh bor, whom you should love as yourself. And it will place you in the columns with other enterprising citizens of your section. 9 It will help to enlighten the community in which you live.
