laving had that honor against the

C’apt. W. W. Jarrell of tho Thom
asvllle guards went down to Boston
yesterday afternoon to heAd the elec
tion for the Lieutenant of tho Bos
ton platoon of the Thomasville
Guards. The election resulted In the
unanimous vote of the platoon being
cast for Mr. Fred Feltham, the popu
lar postmaster of Beston. This Is a
preliminary affair and .la all proba
bility the company here will ratify
this action at the next meeting. Tho
report of the condition of that part
of tho company Is most flattering and
will be a great help to this organiza
tion. The men are thoroughly en
thusiastic and seme are men of ex
perience and anility In a military
way. Twenty men so tar ar* enlist
ed and there are good prospects that
In the near future that number will
be Increased to twenty-five enlisted
men besides the requisite number of
sergeants and corporals. Th* fu
