TO THE STATE 'NORMAL FAC- ULTY. Dean Alexander Rhodes entertained in compliment to the State Normal faculty and local tr stee-s at a beau tifully appointed dinner at the Geor gian hotel last evening. It is the annual custom of the dean to entertain the faculty and trustees, and as host lie crowned himself with glory. The handsomely appointed ta ble was decorated with beautiful sweet peas, around which the bril liant assemblage gathered for one of the most joyous evenings in the his tory of the splendid instittit on. List evening at the tent the Ladies Aid Society of the Christian church formed the reception con*mittee to welcome the many new members that have been received in the church. A musical program was rendered and light refreshments served. A largo attendance was present and the so cial meeting proved very enjoyable. BOX FOR THE ORPHANS. The ladies of the Methodist church have been unable to get the box off as early as had been anticipated. It goes without fail Friday, and this is the last call for contributions which ure asked fo be sent to Mrs. 11. I*. Allen at the District parsonage by 12 o'clock this a. m. Mrs. Marshall Johnston has issued invitations to an auction bridge party to be given in honor of Mrs. Richard Johnston and Mrs. \V. W. Tile interesting program appeared in Tuesday’s paper which promises a musical treat by the younger pupils.
