PAGE TWO One of Two Held on Mur der Charges Is Found Shot to Death HUNTSVILLE, Tenn— (AP) — Armed with guns, several men forced their way into the Scott m)('ntyf,iuil Thursday night and carried away Jerome Boyett and Harvey Winchester, both held on murder charges. Winchester's body, bearing many bullet wounds was found Friday about 200 feet from the road be tween Huntsville and Helenwood. Boyett has not been found. Boyett was charged with the murder of Sheriff G. B. Winning ham and his son, Floyd Winning ham, a deputy, both of Pickett county, about three weeks ago. Fthan Laxton, jailer, said about 100 men, armed but not masked, came to the jail about 11:30 p. m. Thursday night and knocked on the door. He said he was | knocked down as he opened it. I The men then went into thol jail and dragged Boyett and Win chester outside, the jailer said. Winchester, officers said, was charged with the murder of Na mon Perry and Esker Thompson at Winfield several months ago. Soon after Sheriff Winningh:xm‘ and his son were slain, Boyett’s | father was taken into custody :md! a reward offered for his son. The plder‘ Boyett was released fmml jail when he said he thought he could locate his son.
