FUNDAMENTALS OF~
Pivot Helps Player to Put Power Plus
Rhythm Into His Swing
(EDITOR’S NOTE: This is
the second of a series of six
articles on the fundamentals
of the golf stroke)
Pivoting, or turnfng of the hips
and shoulders, is necessary in the
swing to put the player in a posi
tion to hit the ball with power
and force, yet with ease and
rhythm. 2
It is through this hip and shoul
der turn that some golfers can
outdrvie others who have more
muscle and weight.
More golfers fail in executing
correctly this fundamental than
any other. The majority of play
ers shooting 90 or over fail to
turn the body far enough in the
backswing. Instead of a turn of
the hips and shoulders they will
bring the clpbs to the top of the
swing by a swaying motion to the
right.
When the player has turned
sufficiently and properly, he will
find his back presented to the
hole, &nd he will be sighing the
ball over his left shoulder.

“The Little Giant,”
' Robinson’s Best, At
The Palace Tonight
I You'll sing the praise—louder
I.han ever—of Edwail G. Robin
'son, whose “Little Caesa'” char-
Irwtf*rizanon will be regarded al
'ways as one of the finest ever
shown on th>* screen, when you
witiness him in ‘“The Little Giant”
sparkling with comedy, on the
screen of the Palace Theater to
day and Tuesday. It's a knockout
comedy drama with the star at
his best. _
Lest you get the wrong impres
sion, we hasten to inform you that
’Rohinson is not quite a gangster
in the “Little Caesa!” sense of the
'word, and neither is the. “Little
Giant” heavy drama. In fact Rob
inson, in this one, is a comedian—
and it is one of the funniest things
you've ever been offered. I
Robinson plays the role of a
Chicago heer baron who retires
from his highly profitable business
to break into high society, after
beer has become legalized. His
attempts to play the gentleman
lead to some of the most hilarious
situations imaginable, He is con
stantly in hot water and is taken
on a nice joy ride. “The Littlel
Giant” is grand _entertainment!
