Jumies Mollison and his wife, Amy Johnson. Only 50 miles short of their goal, New York, the twin
motored plane in whieh Britain’s famous flying couple had made a long and difficult crossing from
Wales came down in an emergency landing, overshot the field, and plunged nose-on into the soft terrain,
