It gives us pleasure to chronicle the marriage of one of Athens’ best known and popular citizens, to the fair daughter of a neighboring corin' ty. Mr. Drnnis, C. Hurley of Ath- ens, was united in wedlock to Miss Bridget C. Kealy, of Sharon, Talia- h rro county, Ga. The ceremony was performed at 8 a. ra. on Wednes day morning, 15tli inst, by Rev. Father T. A. McUonville, in the church of the Sacred Heart. The attendants were Mr. J. H. Klein of Athens, and Miss Bridget C. O’Donv nell, of Augusta. The bridal party took the morning train lor Athens. Ws extend our hearty congratulas lions to Mr. Hurley. He has a large circle of friends in Athens, into which his bride will receive a warm wel come. The estimate is that if n man or woman lives to be 72 years old, they pass at least 24 years in sleep. f Mr. D M Kenney, writing front Brunswick, says there have been only three rains there since September. Willie Pattinau, a son of John B Pattmao was tried on a writ oi luna cy yesterday and adjudged insane. Madison Davis has been confirmed as postmaster of Athens. It is a pity Dr. Orr could not l.ave lieun re tained. The invitations are out for the grand Pnrem ball to be given at Hunnicutt hall March 6th, by the Hebrew society.
