New Oeleans, July 14.—The propo
sition made by Dr. B. L. Palmer in the
recent anti-lottery meeting in this city
to reeort to revolution if necessary in
order to defeat the reclmrter of the
Louisiana Lottery company continues
to meet with applause and etipport in
north Louisiana. At a mass meeting in
Lincoln parish the sentiments of the
Rwrtin and Arcadia meeting were ap
proved and the following resolutions
were adopted:
Whereas, We scorn the worshipers of
Mammon and scoffers of religion, the
bribe-giver and the bribe-taker, and be
lieve that this is a government of the
people, by the people and for the people,
and recognize the right of the people to
take the helm of government into their
hands, either by revolution, as our fore
fathers did, by a resort to arms, or as
Cromwell did, by dissolving parliament
and beheading the King, or as the peo
ple of New Orleans did in destroying
the Mafia.
Therefore be it resolved. That we, the
people of Lincoln parish, in mass meet
ing assembled, solemnly declare oar op
position to the Louisiana State Lottery
company, and look upon its advocates
as men dangerous to the community
and disloyal to the brat interests of the
statethat we consider that the crimes
have been bo great and its menaces are
so dangerous that we are justified in
pledging ourselves in every line of de
fense open to free men against the
briber and perverter of free government.
At Bonita, in Morehouse parish, at
Culbertson in Lincoln parish, and at a
large number of other smaller towns
and villages in the northern portion of
tbe state where the opposition to the
lottery company is strongest. Dr. Pal
mer’s anti-lottery speech and appeal to
revolution was read in lieu of the decla
ration of indep ndence at tbe Fourth of
July celebrations held.
These sentiments have hitherto been
confined to .the country parishes, but
recently the anti-lottery, league of tbe
Eighth and Ninth wards of New Or
leans strongly indorsed^.* Dr. Palmer’s
speech and views as to' a revolution if
necessary.

Only Room for One Uwut
Macon, Ga., July 13.—It is rumored |
that the Macon find Dnblin railroad will
be purchasers of the Macon and Atlantic
when it is taken ont -6f the hands of !
the receiver, and that the stockholders
of the latter are perfectly willing to let
their interests go. Just how far this
may be trne it is very difficult to say,
as tbe stockholders and officials of both
roads in Macon are extremely reticent
on the subject. Bpth parties, however,
allow that then is only room for one
road from Macon to Savannah.
