The polls were opened at the court house very early yesterday morning and each candidate had out their car riages with the horses marked with the name of the candidate for which they were working. Everything went on smoothly and the opposing candidates would crack jokes with each other and looked like they were working together. Co Friday afternoon at about two o’clock Mr. Jessie Daniels died at hia home seven miles from this place, after tractod illness. He was seventy- three years old, and bad long been well known citiz9n of this county, and died in the bouse which he erected thirty years ago. He leaves many friends, a wife, three daughters and six sons to mourn bis death. Primary Elections Primary elections have saved our country from negro rule and it should be kept up ev.ry year. There may occasionally be a little sharp practice in the primaries but it never amounts to much.
