A. E. Dalls, pastor us the First presbyterian church, per sormed the ceremony in the pres ence of relatives and cloge friends. The program of nuptial music pefore and during the ceremony was presented py Miss Kate wil kinson. The wedding VOWS were taken pefore an improvised altar erected pefore the mantel in the living room. Ferns and baskets of glad joli formed the background for candelabra, holding white tapers in an arch effect. First to enter were Miss Virginia Boyles and Miss Georgia Carter, gisters of the pride and groom. They wore . afternoon dresses of plue organdy. Their shoulder cor sages were of gardenias. The bride and groom entered to | gether. The bride was lovely in -, navy blue ensemble of triple gheer crepe with navy blue acs cessories. Her corsage was of pink roses and valley-lilies. ; Immediately following the cere mony Mr. and Mrs. Carter left for a wedding trip to the Carolinas, after which they will be at home in Ellijay. Mrg. Carter, the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wiley R. Boyles, graduated from LaGrange High school in 1927. She completed her education at Georgia State Teach ers College and the University of Georgia. For the past year she has been principal of Salem school, Mr. Carter is the only son of Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Carter of Athens and attended the University of Georgia, receiving his degree of Master of Science in Chemistry in 1033. At present he is educational‘ advisor for the (Civilian Camp at Ellijay. \ s* & ] BILLY MARTIN IS : HOST TO FRIENDS ON 7TH BIRTHDAY Billy Martin, young son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles S. Martin was the royal host this afternoon, en tertaining in happy celebra}tion ot pis seventh birthday anniversary at a lovely party, at the home of his parents. The notable event wasl marked by patriotic colors of red, white and blue, carried out in all the bright details. Summer flow ers and flags made an effective getting for the fifteen guests throughout the attractive rooms. A peautiful tea table with a-hand somely embossed cake sparkled with seven waxen tapers, which was cut and served with delicious ice cream. The { Light which reveals Jesus Christ | to the World. Christ is the Ligtht of the World There was no’ illimination about Jesus, no halo, nothing to show that He was the Light. How important isithis Light to day in the troubleous times through which *he World is passing, Mrs. Wrighton continued, when it seems there is nothing but a black wall ahead. Christ said follow Me and ye shall not -walk in darkness. It is not enough to have this Light but one must so live that this Light will be a shining path way to others. Mrs. . M. Wood arranged a most delightful program for the social hour. Miss Aliea Betts played with wonderful feeling and expression “The Venetion Love Sorg,” by Nevin. ’ : In response to an encore, Nevin’s “Good Night Song.” T.ittle Miss Elaine Bradshaw gave a reading, “The Eskimos,” which was thoroughly enjoyed. Two readings, “The Kid”, and “Son, Have You Washed,” by Master Dick Timm captivated all present. The last number on the program was a humorous reading, “Just a Little Joy Ride,” by one of Athens gifted young readers, Miss Nell Veatch, which was a riot of fun. While the guests made merry with gay chatter the hostesses gerved dainty sandwiches with tea so refreshing for the warm after roon. —Publicity Chairman. Intermediate G.
