BRIDE WOULD SLAP
JUDGE’S FACE JUST TQi_
"~ BE WITH HUSBAND |
(Continued From Page One) ,
mond to night court. Mrs. Red
mond trailed along.
Magistrate Harrisl sent Redmond
to jail until Friday, in default of
SIOO bail, and then turned to Mrs.
Redmond.
“And what are you going to do
now ?” he inquired.
~ “'ve a good notion,” said Mrs.
Redmond, speaking with the delib
eration that goes with deep
thought, “to slap your face.”
The magistrate (stifling a desire
to say “You, and whose army.”)
arched hid eyebrows and inquired
what put such a silly idea in her
head.
“I do not want to be separated
fgom my husband,’”* she replied. “If
I slapped your face, Yyou would
send me to jail, too, like my hus
band, wouldn’t you?”
The court assured her he prob
ably would do exactly that, but
that he did not intend to give her
the chance; whereupon Mrs. Red
mond departed the place tearfully,
vowing (as would any bride of one
month) never, never, never, to find
fault with her husband again.
