ally, the Master De Luxe series and the New Standard series have much in common, including the Master engine, in which numerous refinements have been
made to enhance performance, durability and economy. As thesc pictures reveal, the New Master De Luxe departs distinctly from previous Chevrolets in
the striking advance which has been made in body design and trim.

KATHARINE HEPBURN
AT PALAGE MONDAY
“The Little Minister’” Is
Here Two Days: ‘‘Hell
dorado’’ at Strand
Katharine Hepburn’s colorful ca
reer has had many triumphs, but
preview reports indicate that she
reveals heretofore unequalled
warmth and depth and humanness
in her role of Babbie in “The Little
Minister,” her new starring ve
hicle, which will show at the Pal
ace Monday and Tuesday.
Her sensationally dynamic rise
to motion picture stardom is today,
recognized as a logical outcoxz{
not only of her unusual talents,
but of her driving temperament.
Born in Hartford, Conn., Kath
arine Hepburn scouted her fam
ilv’'s objections to the stage, pack
ed her bag and baggage, and de
parted. Much work in stock ecom
panies followed, wherein she e€s
tablished and perfected her his
trionic technique.
Then she deliberately. flung the
gauntlet at the feet of five great
producers in succession by chal
lenging their right to tell her how
to act.
Thereby she lost chances to star
or be featured in-five stage plays,
any one of which could have made
her famous over night. Among
thege were “The Big Pond,” “Death
Takes a Holiday,” and, “The Ani
mal Kingdom."”
She even was fired from the
cast of “The Warrior's Husband.”
Later, however, she, being re-em
ploved, appeared with such suc
coss that RKO-Radio signed her
Unconventional as she is suc
cessful, Miss Heyburn will give a
person she thinks needy a job, and
is always interested and solicitious
about the welfare of others in her
company. But she consistently
and emphatically insists upon be
ing allowed to live her own pri
vate life.
“HELLDORADO” IS STRAND
FEATURE FOR TWO DAYS
Jesse L. Lasky, pioneer preodu
cer, and James Cruze, veteran di
rector, the combination which made
“The Covered Wagon”, “Old Iron
sides”, and other million dollar
spectacles of the silent film era,
have once again joined forces for
the making of a spectacular movie.
In their first joint production
since sound arrived on the screen,
Lasky and Cruze have re-united
for the making of “Helldorado”,
for Fox Film. This thrilling new
production—a story of youthful ro
mance and adventure in a deso
lated “ghost-town”—will be seen
at the Strand Theater on Monday
and Tuesday.
Since he joined the Fox Film
‘Corporation two years ago, as a
producer, Lasky has promised
Cruze a directorlal fling at “an
other epic’ ' In “Helldorado,” a
story of terrific sweep and scope,
laid outdoors and in a Western
setting, he felt he had a “natural”
for Cruze‘ to direct. After study
ing the secript, Cruze agreed with
; enthusiasm.

Large Number Will
Attend Meeting at
College Next Week
More than 400 visitors are ex-

tion with the meeting of agricul
tural workers, Harry L. Brown,
director of extension at the Col

Besides the county and home

Among them are Dr. C. W. War

The main purpoge of the agri

Vocational teachers of the state
will confer with county agents and
experiment station workers the
last two days of the week concern
ing the coordination of their pro

with the latest facts in connec

A banquet will be held by the
alumni society during the confer
ence and various other organiza
tions have planned social gather
ings.
Due to the fact that the Insti
tute of Public Affairs meeting is
scheduled for the same week, it is
expected that it will be necessary
for a number of visitors to secure
rooms in private homes, and Di
