of hig mother, Mrs. Florency Brocks
man of Nazareth, Pa., who possed
away this morning followinrg sevs

hopes of her recovery. Mrag
Brockman was prominent in all the
affairs of her home town and was
organist for many years at her

of Women Voters and very active

Athenians who attended the Na
tional Iducation Asseciation's big
convention at Atlantic QCity last
week réturned Saturday, declaring
the various sessions were among
the best they have ever attended.
The Athenians who went to the
convention are B. M. Grier, super
intendent of the city schoels, Prof.
John T. Wheeler of the University
College of Agriculture and Dr. Paul
R. Morrow, of the School of Ea@-
ucation, University of Georgia.
About sixty Georgia educators
aftended the convention. The as
sociation is divided into various
departments, including college and
university divisions. Mr, Griep at
terided the sessions of the depart
ment of superintendence. - |

Mrs. John M. Williams, well
known Athens woman, died at a
leoal hospital Sunday morning, af
ter® an illness of several months,
during which time she underwent
an operation.
Funeral services were held in
Winder, her former home, thisj
afternoon at three o'clock, with!

Mrs. Williams is survived by her
husband, John M. Williams, prom
inent local cotton man; two daugh-|
ters, Mrs. R. E. Cannon, of (Tla,\'-l
ton, and Miss Helen Williams ofi
Athens; brother, Dr. J. T. Wages|
of Vidalia, Ga., Jessie M. Wages|
and Bolden Wages, Auburn, and |

Before coming to Athens sever-!
al years ago, Mrs. Wiliams had}
been a resident of Wihnder for 25
yvears. She was active in church

friends to morn her death. !
