To State Meeting
The American Legion Auxiliary,
held its final meeting of the sea
son Friday in the Legion Log
Cabin with Mrs, Jacob B. Joel
presiding
The chairmen made their reports
giving a resume of the year’s
work. Delegates ‘elected to the
Americap Legion and Auxiliary
convention in Macon in August are
Mrs. Jacob B. Joel, Mrs. Carl
Saye, Mrs. H. Hodgson, and Mrs.
J. M. Lewis. Alternates chosen
were Mrs. T. Camarata, Mrs. F.
Mitehell, Mrs. C. Henson and Mrs.
A. D. Gann. |

Cincinnati and Dayton
Rabbi and Mrs. Abraham Shus-z
terman and daughter Sara Lee will
leave Tuesday morning for Cinein
nati and Dayton, Ohio, where they
will visit relatives and where|
Rabbi Shusterman will take a pre
liminary examination for his .doc-‘l
tor’® degree.
They will remain away a month,
spending a week in Chicago where
Rabbi Shusterman will attend the
annual session of the Central Con
ference of America-r‘n Rabbis.

The meeting was opened with
prayer by Mrs. H. E. Williams,
Mrs. Annie O’Farrell led the de
wvotional, using as her scripture
reading the 100th Psalm,
She said, “We should tell God
that we love him with gladness
and be proud te do something for
the Lord. We should give Bim un
selfish service. He is God. Nothing
is made without Him. He has
ownership and our gifts are used
te either glorify or shadow Him.
When we go into His house, we
must go to worship Him with
hearts filled with joy and forge:
gossip. Where would we be with
out His mercy? No matter how
many sins we commit, if we re
pent, He forgives. There is no
change in truth. The word of God
is always the same and we must
absorb it.”
