Atlanta arrived in the city Monday

Mr. J. E. Randolph, who under=
went an operation at Crawford W.
Long Hospital in Atlanta Friday
is resting as comfortably as can be
expected. Quite a number of Jef
ferson friends have visited him
this week and are wishing for him
a speedy recovery.

cate blossoms of summer flowers
and myriads of glowing candles. I
The altar was improvised in the
drawing room with pots of hand-i

kets filled with madonna lilies. A

The wedding music was played
by the bride’s cousin, Mrs. H. I.
Mobley, who rendered” a program
of appropriate musical selections on
the the piano, and was accompan
ist for Mr, Foy Harrison, who sang
in a clear sweet volce, “Ah, Sweet
Mystery of Life,” and “When I
Grow Too Old to Dream.” As Mrs.
Mobley struck the notes of Men
delssohn’s wedding march, Rev.
Nat G. Long, pastor of Glenn
Memorial church, ‘Atlanta. entered
the drawing room from the dining
room and took his place before the
altar. He was followed by Mr.
Sheats and the best mang Mr, Mar
ion Williamson, of East Point
Then came the sister of the bride,
Miss Mary Pendergrass, who came
down the stairway and entered from I
the hall. To the beautiful melody .
from Lohengrin’s bridal chorus, the
lovely bride descended the stair
way and took her place beside the
groom-elect before the bridal al
tar. Using the impressive ring
ceremony formulated in the rltuall
of the Methodist denomination,
Rev. Long spoke the words that
united the young couple in mar
riage, while the pianist softly play
ed “Love’'s Greetings.”
Wedding Gown
The bride’s dark brunette beauty
was enhanced by the wedding gown
of white mousseline de soie, made
with long lines over taffeta. Ruffles
were cascaded down the sides. A
veil of misty tulle extended into a
train beyond the edge of the gown,
and was fastened to her dark hair
with a tulle cap and clusters of or
ange blossoms. Her sandals were
of white satin, and she carried a
beautiful arm bouquet of garden
ias, showered with lilies of the.val
ley, and long streamers of white
Isatin ribbon that extended to the
ledge of her dress.

gowned in a lovely frock of pink
flowered chiffon, and carried an
arm bouquet of pink radiance roses
tied with pink tulle,
Following the ceremony, the
guests were entertained at an in
formal reception by the mother of
the bride, Mrs, J. B. Pendergrass,
who wore a gown of white chiffon,
splashed with lavender flowers with
a purple sash at the waistline, Her
shoulder corsage was made of lav
ender and pink sweet peas.

and sisters of the bridegroom. Mrs.
Tillander was gowned in flowered
chiffon, and the young ladies wore

Following the reception, Mr, and
Mrs. Sheats left by motor, amid
a shower of rice, for a wedding
trip, after which they will estab
lish their residence at East Point.
The bride’s going away suit was
made of white crepe, with which
she wore white accessories.
Mrs. Sheats is the daughter of
Mrs. Dell Heath Pendergrass, form
erly of Norwood, and the late Dr.
J. B. Pendergrass, who was one of
Jefferson’s most prominent physi
cians, She is a graduate of Mar
tin Institute and of LaGrange col
lege, Since receiving her college
diploma, she has been connected
with the Fulton county schools at
East Point, Beautiful in face and
figure, lovely in temperament, re
fined in manner and disposition,
gracious and charming, she has en
joyed wide popularity both at home
and in the city where she has
taught. and that her marriage
will take her to another city is
cause for much regret among her
home people.
MY. Sheats is a prominent and
successful lawyer and city attorney
of East Point. He enjoys wide
popularity, and is esteemed for his
Christian character and integrity.

Visits Winder
United States Senator Richard
B. Russell spent last week-end
with his parents, Chief Justice
and Mrs. Russell. He delivered
the address at Emory university
on Monday morning at which time
his brother, Alex, graduated. He
left this week for Washington, D.
C., and was accompanied by little
Betty and Bobbie Russell, who
will be his guests in the national
capital for some time.

tions of electric cookery in Bogart,
Statam and Auburn this week, af
ter two weeks of demonstrations of
the Georgia Power Company’s all
electric kitchen coach in Oconee,
Greene, Morgan and Newton county
towns.

demonstration in Bogart, Wednes
.day at 2:30 p. m. Demonstrations
will be held in Statham at 10:30
a., m. and 2:30 p. m. on Thurs
day, and in Auburn at 2:30 p. m.

will be parked downtown in each
community. Prizes and recipes will
be given away. Homemakers are
