Repeat Splendid Minstrel ?hfl& Made for Future ~ Activities at Regular Meeting Tuesday Night WATKINSVILLE.—The Civitan club, at its monthly social meet ing last might, with no set pro gram, accomplished a great deal §n the line of future activities, ‘gince if had time to discuss vari auis projects in mind, and also at ‘the close of the meeting, many of thg members gave brief talks cov ering fellowship, their jdeas of ‘good citizenship and problems eonironting the present age. «“ The meeting was held in the pasement of the Methodist church with the ladies of the Baptist churéh serving the delightful din fler. Mrs, W. H, Hodges, Mrs. %1. Mcßee and Mrs, C, L. Lee were in charge. Harvey Downs, club sécretary, gave a report on the recent min stre] show and since it drew a full house, it was decided to repeat the performance, the proceeds 10 go to am empty stocking fund. City Police Yesterday A man booked as George Tobias I white, was arrested last night by | city police on charges of stealing | a watch from Jack Escoe at the! Y. M. C. A. He was arrested on} the Lexington road. : Fscoe told officers he went to a’ lavatory at the “Y” to wash his hands, taking his watch from his | wrist. Tobias was the only person ‘; present when he took the watch off, so when he missed it a few minutes later, he told oflicers of hig suspicion. The watch was found in the pos session of Tobias when he was ar rested. A warrant for the man has been sworn out and he is being held in Clarke county jail. - Another man, James Daniel white, was arrested last night by city officers of suspision of enter ing a house here Saturday night: Police refused to give out any de tails of Daniel's drrest, however.
