A Shoney s Christmas
Shoney’s Restaurant gave away a pair of bikes last week. Robert Morgan (next to
Santa) won the first bike and chose the boy’s model. Savannah McCurdy (represented
by her Dad Ben) won the girls bike. Mr. Morgan gave his bike to a needy a family in
Turner County as a surprise Christmas present.

Greene to wed Castleberry
Lt. Col. (Ret.) and Mrs.
Danny Greene of Cordele
announce the engagement and
forthcoming marriage of their
daughter, Angie Lauren Greene
of Cordele, to Michael S.
Castleberry, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Wayne Castleberry of
Cordele.
The bride-elect is the moth
er of Will Gourley. She is the
granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs.
W.T. Greene, Ethel W. Perkins
and the late Reginald Perkins
all of Cordele.
She is a graduate of 71st
High School in Fayetteville,
N.C., and a 2001 graduate of
Georgia Southern University in
Statesboro with a bachelor’s
degree in early childhood edu
cation. Currently she is
enrolled at Valdosta State
University pursuing a master’s
degree in educational leader
ship. She is employed by the
Crisp County Board of
Education and currently is a
kindergarten teacher at
Blackshear Trail Elementary
School.
The futurer groom is the
father of Luke and Leah
Castleberry. He is the grandson
of the late Marlow Murray
Castleberry, the late Martha C.
Castleberry, Edna N. Cason
and the late Otis Otto Cason all
of Cordele.
He is a 1992 graduate of
Crisp County High School and
is currently employed with
Service Supply Distributors in
Cordele as the operations and
logistics manager.
A private ceremony is
planned for Dec. 29, 2005, at

Ga Southern Dean’s List
Georgia Southern University students have been named to the
Dean’s List for the Fall 2005 term. To be eligible for the Dean’s
List, a student must have at least a 3.50 grade point average and
carry a minimum of 12 credit hours for the semester: Stephanie
Black, Junior, Pre-Nursing; Brandy Mathis, Freshman,
Chemistry/Pre-Pharmacy; Alexis D Whitehead, Senior,
Child/Family Development.

ABAC Dean’s List
A total of 372 students were named to the 2005 fall term
Dean’s List at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, according
to an announcement today by Vice President and Dean of
Academic Affairs Caroline Helms. Students on the Dean’s List
attained a minimum grade point average of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale and
carried at least 12 hours of academic work.

uated from basic military train
ing at Lackland Air Force
Base, San Antonio, Texas.
During the six weeks of
training, the airman studied the
Air Force mission, organiza
tion, and military customs and
courtesies; performed drill and
ceremony marches, and
received physical training, rifle
marksmanship, field training
exercises, and special training
in human relations.
In addition, airmen who
complete basic training earn
credits toward an associate
degree through the Community
College of the Air Force.
Edwards is the son of
David Edwards of Ashburn

Rincon. He is a 2005 graduate
of Bryan County High School.
