Position Available
The City of Ashburn is accepting applications for the position
of Skilled Laborer. This position performs general manual work
in various ground and other maintenance activities. Work is per
formed under direct supervision. Performs a variety of public
works maintenance and construction tasks. Loads and unloads
heavy materials from tracks. Picks up trash along roadsides and
other areas. Performs heavy manual labor such as: digging, lift
ing, spraying, etc. Moves equipment and large bulky objects.
May drive vehicles and operate light equipment occasionally.
Uses tools and equipment common in public works operations.
Treats the public and other employees in a respectful and courte
ous manner. Adheres to safe work practices and follows safety
polices and rales. Complies with all Personnel Policies and
Department regulations. (These essential job functions are not to
be construed as a complete or all inclusive. Other duties may be
