Rebels and Lady Rebels roll up wins REBEL WRESTLING by Brad Christian Kids were back in school after the turn of the calendar last week and the Rebels and Lady Rebels basketball teams were back in full swing this past weekend. First up was a trip to Lake land to take on Lanier County in a region battle. The Lady Rebels led 36-25 at halftime in a game that was fairly close through two quarters. The Lady Rebels never could to tally shake the Lady Bulldogs but the game never got really close in the second half as the Lady Rebels won comfortably 60-44. Mylashia Yancey fin ished with a game high 25 points and 15 rebounds. Br- ishuana Barnes also scored in double figures with 16 points. In the nightcap, the Rebels jumped out to a big lead as they lead over an overmatched Bulldog squad 31-14 at the half. In the second half, the Rebels cruised along and emp tied the bench as eleven differ ent Rebel players scored en route to an easy 65-43 victory. Tamorrion Terry finished with 20 points. Jaden Green fin ished with a season high 10 points. Saturday night brought Calhoun County to Ashbum in a clash between the Cougars and the Rebels. The Lady Cougars came in with only two losses on the season in what would be a challenge for the undefeated Lady Rebels. The Lady Rebels led 26-18 at the half and slowly kept adding to that lead as the Lady Cougars never could make a run to get back into the game. The Lady Rebels kept up their strong play to pick up a big 59-45 vic tory that will provide a big boost to the power rankings of the Lady Rebels. Yancey fin ished with a game high 23 points while Barnes had 13 points. It was the 23rd straight regular season win for Tasha Kimble’s squad.
