And the Atlanta bunch tried
to frame up the meeting of the

■lipped a cog.
Georgia mav have room for the
foreigner to live but not to boss
her. If a few of them would
bear this in mind things might
be better.

Just think about that bunch of
Macon cops with 7000 gallons of
renegade whiskey. Whoopee
wont they have a time until the
evidence is used up?
Big doings in Appalachicola
this week. Are you going down
to take it in. The oyster folks
will give you one royal welcome
if you spend the week with
them.
Savannah is going to keep on
until she has a big mess out of
her local affairs and will convince
the state that neither Pierpont or
any of the bunch down there are
to be tried very far.
There is always the man with
you that knows more about your
affairs than you do yourself and
giving himself the airs of a know-
all he swells with the importance
of his own ignorance.
Well, if your man was not

it is said that old father Time

suppose he can do anything with

Well the war is over for the
present and the boys will settle
down to wait for another four
years before they will ask for
county offices. The county has a
good set of men to serve them.
Mr. Reader whether you voted
for all the winners or not.
Judge W. M. Harrell of this
city is being urged to enter the
race for the Superior Court Judge
ship in the event of the vacancy.
We are with the Decatur county
man from start to finish. We
only turn out the best down this
way and it about time that jje-
catur got her Jshare of these
honors. Judge Harrell is a most
conscientious God-fearing man
and will fill the place, and would
be a fitting round up of his
career as an attorney to serve in
this capacity.
| The Will of the People of
Macon seems to have been as-
Iserted and the “Jints” will have
| to go. It cost a terrible price to
arouse the people of the Central
city but they are aroused indeed.
The Blind Tiger must go.
The ancient menagerie that
contained Teddy Bears, Bull
Moose, Billy Possum and various
other ante-deluvian animals is
trying very hard to get in the
circus once more but their age
and previous usefulness works
against them.
Moved and seconded that muf
flers be provided for the mouths
of Teddy and of Bryan for the
next 12 months at the expense
of tne public. We feel that a
public subscription could
be raised instanter for such a
purpose.
The Battle Cry of Peace has
nothing to do with the row that
a man and his wife may have
over those enormous Easter Bills
that will come later. This is
merely a picture show that is
coming along.
Volney Williams of the Way-
cross Journal Herald has an
nounced for Representative from
Ware County. Volney will learn
things now that he never dream
ed of with his best pipe in work-
in order.
The Merchants are preparing
for a bigJSpring Trade and are
gathering in the stock that will
catch and hold the business on
every turn this time. Just look
in the windows and you will see
some magnificent offerings to the
people in this city and county.
The friends of progress are
wondering just how long it will
be before some concerted action
takes place among the folks in
this county to combat the cotton
evil. That is the evil of planting
too much cotton when there is a
number of other great agricul
tural opportunities.
The school teachers have been
caught in the maelstrom of poli
tics, are being held out of their
money by an injunction that
works a hardship on them. They
have no concern Sin the political
game and it hard on them to be
put to such inconvenience as they
have nothing to do with the game
of politics at all for any cause.
Weoften wonder if Bainbridge
has more than her share of
meddlers, folks that dip their
mouths in things that dont con
cern them than any other town
or not. We love the liars and
critics that meddle in our bus
iness however as they keep us
advertised very nicely. And they
are many.
Grady, ^Decatur and Miller
county have had their primaries
and the boys can all get down to
business for the coining year.
Those that won can make prep
arations to hold the job an those
that lost may gee in the years
work. The early primary being
more satisfactory in this respect
at least.
The revival closed Sunday
night after a three weeks run
and everybody seemed to enjoy
the work of the evangelist and
the singers. It will be many days
before Bainbridge will show such
an attendance of people at a
revival as gathered at this one.
The revival that closed last
Sunday night was one of the
most interesting that has ever
been held in Bainbridge. There
may not have been as many ac
quisitions to the churches of the
town as formerly but the interest
was more keen and the solid men
and women of the town more
deeply interested than they have
even been before. Rev. Arthur
Moore will always be appreciat
ed in Bainbridge.
Duval Countv Florida has been
carrying insurance on county
property that was void from the
very start. How often does a
city pay for things that she dont
get.
Female gambling came in for a
share of the evils that the evange
list tried to break up in Bain
bridge and it is hoped that he
did som? good along the line. In
the past some of our women have
boasted of how many card parties
they attended and what they
won. Showing conclusively that
it was taking a big hold on them.
The date of the Donalsonville
Fair has been set for October 3
to 6 inclusive and the West
Siders are determined to make
this Fair ®the biggest and most
instructive that has ever been
held in this section. They are a
plucky people over there and
they will pull off something that
will pull off something that will
reflect credit on the town and
county. Watch them progress.
A legislative committee in
spected the Decatur county
stockade and roads and pro
nounced them the best they had
seen. The committee was here
last week and they gave the
county matters a thorough look
ing into and were very profuse
in the good things they had to
say of the roads and county farm
and all other matters that came
under their eyes.
Notice where a big corporation
in the Pan-American shipping in
terests has opened an Advice
Bureau. Whole lot of trouble
for nothing. We have quite a
large number in full operation on
the streets of Bainbridge that
can advise you as to anything
under the sun and they are going
without much patronage. We
will loan anybody several that
can use them or put up with
them for that matter.
Yesterday was thinning out
day. The boys that lost, lost
game and those that won fare to
be congratulated. Taken as a
whole the campaign just closed
has been about the cleanest cam
paign that we have ever known.
There will be less hard feeling
from this campaign than there
has ever existed after one that
has been as hard contested as
this one.
City Attorney William D. Mc
Neill of Macon has taken Police
Power of that city and will root
out the tigers and whiskey
blockaders. Right now we wish
to observe that Macon has put
the job in the bands of the man
that has got the nerve to do the
work alright. McNeill is a wire-
grass !cracker that will do his
duty as he see it at any and all
times.
We invited all the churches
and lodges to have an article in
our special Edition land some of
them have got them in. Others
have not and when the Edition
comes out others interested will
wonder why their organization
was not represented. This is the
reason. We cant run folks down
to do them a favor. We extend
ed the invitation, they accepted
and have not given us the copy.
This all we can do.
Occasionally we hear from
some reader that is sore over re
ceiving a statement of their sub
scription due this paper. How-
the great majority responded
nicely to our first request. It is
funny that a man will get sore
at a home institution over send
ing them a statement of a small
amount when they know that
the home man means no offense
while they will smile at a dun
that comes from away fiom
home. There is not now 75 sub
scribers out of ovep two thousand
that owe the paper any back
dues and for this we are very
grateful.
The Executive Committee of
Randolph County has called a
primary in this wise. “Any
WHITE DEMOCRAT of said
county who intends to abide the
result of the result of the party
primary and support the nomi
nees” is qualified to vote. That
will be an old fashioned Demo
cratic primary. If that yard stick
is put to good use, a primary will
result that will do the pary good.

JUDGE HARRELL

The most interesting political
item of the week is the ann^uce-

for the Judgeship of the Superior
Court of Judge Harrell. The
item is interesting to the many
friends of Judge Harrell all over
the circuit as well as in De
