GAPITDL MANAGEMENT
State Fire Marshal W. R. Joyer
is reported to haye just complet
ed for the governor a special re-
' port of fire-hazard conditions in
and about the state house," and
in it according to rumor, the
management of the building is
i lambasted without mercy, and
the conbitions Beverly denounc
ed. The report is said to be
ready for submitting to Gover-
' nor Harris, and probably will be
| placed in his hands next Monday,
'as he will be out of the city until
then.
During the last year the capi
tal has been visited by three
fifesi neither of them which
fortunately, did great damage.
Each of the blazes, it is under
stood, is treated in detail in the
marshal’s report, and in each
instance the blame is placed up
on the shoulders of the custo
dian’s department, chiefly for
alleged negligence.
It is understood the report will
recommend that during every
hour of every day and every
mgnt a watchman be on duty
in the basement and under time
clock regulations.
