TRIUMPH UP RESTS
SHOWS THE SMI
OF TIRES
Joe McFarland is blowing and
blustering around about a girl
baby that has taken up her
abode in his home just as if he
was the only fellow in town
that had a bright little daughter.
“The expected happened at
the Indiarapolis races,” says a
Goodrich official, “Resta, the
favorite, in a Peugeot, equipped
with Silvertown Tires won the
3500 mile Speedway Sweep-
stakes, with plenty to spare.
“Aside from Resta’s wonder
ful driving alnjd the unsual
mechanical perfection of the
Peugeot car, the feature of the
great race was the stamina and
Staying qualities of Silvertown
Tires.
“Seventeen out of 22 entries
were Silvertowns. The fi r s t
three cars at the finish weie
Silvertown equipped, and each
car only one stop in 300 miles.
Resta and Mulford both said
that it was not necessary for
them to make the one tire change,
but that, having, stopped for
othhr reasons, they took the time
and pre caution of changing one
tire.
“Resta said after the 300 mile
drive that races used to be a
battle of tires and the driver
who was fortunate enough to go
through with but few tire
changes won the race. But now
with the time tested Silvertowns
tire troubles and blowouts have
been pratically eliminted. The
Goodrich Company has made it
possible for cars to develop 100
miles or more per hour with
safety.
“D’Alene, who was second in
his Duesenberg. was enthusias
tic over Silvertown Tire Service.
‘You connot make my endorse
ment of Silvertowns for road
driving or racing to strong, ’ he
said. ‘The race today shows that
there never was a better tire
made than Silvertowns ’ Ralph
Mulford, who was third in his
Peugeot, said, ‘I have always
been a Silvertown booster. Last
year I went through the Chicago
300 mile race without a tire
change 1800 miles, with the
Hudson Super-Six with Silver-
towns all around. Silvertowns
all around. Silvertowns give
your car more speed wtth less
motor power, save gasoline, and
eliminate all ordinary tire
trouble.’
“Mrs. Dario Resta attended
the races in her Premier equipp.
ed with the classy Black Tread
Silvertowns. ‘Besides giving
better service,’ Mrs. Resta said,
Silvertowns give my car a
classy appearance, and makes it
ride easier.
“The drivers, before and after
the races, commented on the
Sportsmanship offer made by the
B. F. Goodrich Company, of
$10,000 prizes to the Champion
drivers of America. “At first
we thought it was necessary for
us to use Silvertowns in order to
be eligible for the prize,’ said
one of the drivers, ‘but we find
that the Goodrich Co., will give
the prize to the best driver re-

From the comments made as
a result of the great allowing
